This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver wine goblet has a circular campania shaped form onto a knopped stem and domed circular foot.

The body of this antique silver goblet is embellished with exceptional embossed rose and thistle designs amidst foliage.

The decoration to the body incorporates an opposing scrolling bordered cartouche displaying a bright cut engraved crest of a demi talbot holding between the paws a rose branch, encompassed by a garter with the motto 'Instans ac constans' - Instant and constant*.

The drinking vessel surmounts a plain swept knopped cylindrical pedestal.

The foot is embellished with further embossed scroll and floral ornamentation to an incurved collet style rim.

* These heraldic marking pertain to the Wilkinson family.
