The neck terminates with a plain, knopped waisted portion to a broad band of six chased alternating grotesque figural medallions accented with scrolling leaf decoration and segmented with plain convex fluted designs.

This magnificent claret jug retains the original gilded interior.

This exceptional ewer sits on the original hallmarked English sterling silver charger plate.

The outer circumference of the well is encircled with bands of chased decorated figural masks conjoined with a strapwork style border, all amidst further foliate designs and matte textures.

The interior of the well incorporates further chased decorated masks alternating with a frieze of two figural motifs to either side of a vase displaying a floral spray; the plate features a plain domed circular panel to the centre.

The raised rounded rim of the plate is embellished with chased mask and leaf decoration accented with mythical creatures, all below a decorative egg style border.
