An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver cream jug; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver cream jug has a compressed, circular rounded form.


The body of this Victorian silver jug is embellished with fine and impressive chased scrolling coriander leaf and rope decoration, in the Kashmir style.


This exceptional cream jug is fitted with a fine and impressive cast handle modelled in the form of a snake; the snake's head extends out within the vessel and the intertwining tail forms the lower terminal.


The underside of the base bears the retailers mark 'Hancocks' & Co, 39 Bruton St, London' in addition to the registration number 'W40' and the contemporary engraved initials 'RCL'.


This exceptional sterling silver cream jug, crafted by the renowned silversmith Charles Frederick Hancock, is the finest example of its type you could hope to acquire.

The cast and chased decoration are all very sharp
