The rim and circular spreading foot of this impressive mug are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.
The mug is fitted with an impressive S scroll handle with a plain thumbpiece; the handle is struck with the makerâ€™s mark as to be expected.
The handle is embellished to the upper portion with the contemporary engraved initials 'HIP' incorporating a central quatrefoil motif.
