An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Russian silver gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel caddy spoon; an addition to our Russian silverware collection

This exceptional antique Russian silver caddy spoon has a shovel shaped bowl onto a elongated stem.


The reverse surface of the bowl is embellished with cloisonné scrolling and floral designs amidst bands of blue bead decoration using various tones of white, blue and red sections of polychrome enamel, all on a matte gilt background.


The enamel segments are encompassed with applied silver paralleling rope twist ornamentation.


The stem and anterior surface of the bowl retains the original gilding.


The stem of the handle is embellished with a twist design to a rounded handpiece embellished with cloisonné enamel decorated bead and spindle ornamentation, in addition to a ball finial.


The hallmarks to the anterior surface of the stem of this impressive Russian silver spoon include:

Silver quality/purity mark: 84 (84 zolotniks*)


* 84 zolotniki is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver.

This antique Russian silver caddy spoon is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The cloisonné enamel is in perfect condition.

The Russian hallmarks struck to the anterior surface of the bowl are very clear; the maker's mark has been partially struck but remains clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Russian silverware.
