An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece tea service; part of our silver teaware collection

SKU C4100

This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea set consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug.

The pieces of this antique service have a pear shaped form onto four feet.

The upper and lower portion of each body is ornamented with exceptional and finely chased floral and foliate decoration, accented with scrolling motifs.

This decoration incorporates a scroll bordered vacant cartouche to either side.

The teapot is fitted with a plain domed hallmarked hinged cover embellished with an applied stylised leaf decorated border to the shaped rim.

The cover retains the impressive original cast hallmarked sterling silver finial realistically modelled in the form of a stemmed gourd amidst foliate decoration.

Each piece of this sterling silver tea set is fitted with an impressive cast sterling silver scrolling handle, ornamented with leaf decoration to the thumbpiece.

The anterior surface of the exceptional hallmarked teapot handpiece is further ornamented with a panel of foliate and floral decoration.

The teapot's cast sterling silver swan necked spout is embellished with floral and foliate decoration to the upper surface, in addition to an impressive and large leaf design to the underside.

Each piece is supported by four large cast silver, leaf decorated feet, with impressive leaf and foliate designs to the sockets.

The cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original gilt interior.

This magnificent example of Victorian silverware is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

The pieces of this antique three piece tea set are an exceptional gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The interior of each piece has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The cast and chased decoration to each piece is very sharp.
