This stunning, large antique Victorian brooch has been modelled in 9ct yellow gold, in the form of a dragonfly, with silver set wings.
The realistic millegrain, pierced decorated, paired wings are embellished with a total of one hundred and ten pavé set Dutch cut and Old European cut diamonds of various sizes.
The thorax of the dragonfly is ornamented with a collet set cushion cut natural ruby, and the segmented abdomen accented with four smaller cushion cut natural rubies displayed alternately between five Old European cut diamonds.
The head of this impressive Victorian brooch is further embellished with two Dutch cut diamonds in addition to two cabochon rubies representing the eyes.
Two further collet set Dutch cut diamonds accent the tips of the antennae.
The detachable legs of the insect are realistically modelled in 9ct yellow gold and embellished with silver set Dutch cut diamonds.
The antique dragonfly brooch secures to the reverse with a detachable hinged pin and safety catch arrangement.
This fine dragonfly brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
