This exceptional, fine and impressive antique pendant/fob has been crafted in 10ct yellow gold.

This Masonic pendant is realistically modelled in the form of three-dimensional pair of compasses*, accented with the applied letter 'G' to either side**.

This exceptional design surmounts a hemi-spherical setting ornamented with impressive scrolling decoration, incorporating details of the Masonry square***.

This domed setting is fitted with a cardinal-direction compass.

The face of this fully functional compass is visible through a circular glass 'window'; the compass can rotate in situ to hide the viewing window.

The compass is embellished cardinal marks, encircled with a chapter ring of degree marks around the outer edge; the piece bears an enamel dial as you would expect from a piece of this period.

The Victorian pendant suspends from a 9ct yellow gold 45.72cm/18" curb chain, via a ring loop attachment to the apex of the design; the chain secures with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse.

This exceptional Masonic compass pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 10 carat gold.

Such fine examples of Masonic antique jewellery are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

NOTES: * The Freemasonry teachings use the compasses symbolically to draw a boundary line around desires, to avoid overindulgence and maintain the foundation of morality and wisdom.

** The letter G is not always included within the classic symbol; America is the most common place for this inclusion. The letter G has multiple meanings depending on the context of discussion, the most common variation is 'God' or 'Great Architect of the Universe' (a non-denominational reference to God). Alternatively, some state it represents 'Geometry', supporting the Masonic lessons and symbolism associated with builders and architects.

*** In Freemasonry the square is a symbol used to teach lessons of morality. In conjunction with the compass, it is used a reminder that a life of integrity can be achieved by balancing your own needs and acting truly towards others.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
