Bulgari

Among the wide variety of luxury brands available in our stock, Bulgari is one of the most diverse in terms of designs and styles.

Founded in 1884 by silversmith Sotirios Boulgaris, often translated from the Greek Σωτήριος Βούλγαρης as Voulgaris, in Empirius Greece, the Bulgari name started out as a single jewellery store.

The first time the Bulgari brand name was actually displayed as a logo was in 1934 as the brass signage above the flagship store on the fashionable street of Via Condotti in Rome, Italy. Some of the early designs of the Bulgari name incorporated influences from Byzantine and Islamic artistic designs as well as floral motifs to create jewellery that stood out from the crowd.

In the late 1940s, the Bulgari name gained serious prestige through its unique Serpenti wristwatch designs, which combined the beauty of a serpentine, jewel-encrusted bracelet with the practicality of an elegant wristwatch.

Soon after this increase in popularity, in the 1950s and 1960s, Bulgari had high-level clientele such as Elizabeth Taylor, Gina Lollobrigida, and Elizabeth Taylor. The Bulgari brand produced remarkably unique and popular designs during the post-war boom, when gold and colourful gemstones were in steady supply.

During the 1970s, Bulgari opened stores in fashionable cities across the world such as New York and Paris. We are thankful for every piece of Bulgari jewellery that passes through our hands; it’s easy to see how they became such a big name.
