This exceptional Edwardian sterling silver playing card box has a rectangular form onto four cushion feet.


The surface of this silver box is embellished with four panels, each retaining an antique period playing card displayed behind the original bevelled glass panel.


The silver border to each side is plain and unembellished.


This novelty box retains the original hallmarked hinged cover, ornamented with a domed circular portion to the centre.


The cover of this fine silver box opens to reveal the original leatherette fitment, allowing for three packs of full-size multi-suit playing cards to be stored.


The interior of the cover features the original gilding.


This exceptional example of antique silver retains the original leatherette covering to the underside.

This antique silver playing card box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The leatherette to the underside of the box has wear in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the surface of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
