An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Edwardian English sterling silver and wood bridge marker; an addition to our diverse silverware collection

This exceptional and rare antique Edwardian sterling silver bridge marker has a heart-shaped form.


The original carved, stained hard wood base is embellished with an impressive applied hallmarked motif realistically modelled in the form of four splayed playing cards: one of each suit.


The heart-shaped base features a handpiece to the upper portion, ornamented with a secondary silver mount displaying an engraved heart encompassed with scrolling leaf decoration.


The surface of this exceptional antique example is encompassed with two rows of marker holes, paralleling the shaped outer rim.


The underside bears a swing hinged compartment, allowing access to four markers.


This impressive example of Edwardian silverware is supported by three bun style feet.

This antique bridge marker is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the applied mount are very clear.
