Sterling Silver Candlesticks - Antique George V (1919)

An exceptional, fine and impressive set of four antique George V London sterling silver candlesticks; an addition to our antique silverware collection

These exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver candlesticks have a circular knopped tapering form to a circular spreading base.

The circular bell-shaped capitals are embellished with embossed fluted decoration and retain the original hallmarked detachable circular sconces, each encompassed with thread decoration to the rim.

The capitals are supported by circular tapering columns, ornamented with further embossed fluted decoration.

Each candlestick column is further ornamented with thread decorated rounded knops.

The lower portion of each column features a plain rounded knop to a spreading circular base.

The rims of the bases are encompassed with fluted decoration, reflecting that of the capital and column.

These impressive London silver candlesticks have filled bases and bear the original green baize coverings to the undersides.

Date: 1919

These antique London silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

There are some minor surface blemishes to these candlesticks, in keeping with age and such original period examples.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and sconce sleeve are very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.

An accurate weight of silver cannot be provided as these candlesticks have filled bases.
