An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper in the form of an obelisk; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection

This exceptional and unusual antique Victorian sterling silver pepper has a tapering rectangular cuboid shape, realistically modelled in the form of an obelisk*.


The body of this rare antique silver pepper is embellished with impressive engraved hieroglyphic style decoration.


The plain upper pyramid portion is ornamented with with pierced 'pepper' holes.


The underside of the pepper is fitted with the original hallmarked screw fit cover and bears the retailer's mark 'A&L. Moses. 26 The Hard, Portsea'.

This antique pepper is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The engraved decoration is all very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim of the base and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
