This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver cigarette / vesta box has a plain rectangular form with rounded corners.

The surface of this impressive box is plain and unembellished.

This example of antique silverware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged solid silver cover, which retains the original gilding to the interior.

The body of this exceptional box is fitted with the original cedar wood lining.

One end of this exceptional cigarette box is fitted with an unusual secondary hallmarked hinged silver vesta box, which features three shaped silver match holders and a serrated panel/striker.

This sterling silver cigarette box has a weighted base and retains the original leatherette covering to the underside.

NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver covers.
