Description

This exceptional antique Swiss 14ct yellow gold snuff box has a rounded serpentine shaped form.

The body of this antique gold box is embellished with exceptional bright cut engraved interlacing scrolling leaf decoration accented with vine and tendril designs to either side.

This impressive box is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with bands of undulating and scalloped designs.

The upper plateau of the cover and underside of the body are embellished with further bright cut engraved interlacing scrolling leaf decoration; the underside incorporates a central floral and fruiting spray, in addition to a floral motif to each corner.

The decoration to the cover incorporates impressive shaped enamel panels encompassing floral designs.

The anterior edge of the cover features an impressive applied scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece.

The paralleling collet style foot is encircled with an undulating band of pinstruck decoration.
