The three dimensional ovoid locket is composed of two oval cabochon cut bloodstone panels, framed in 18ct yellow gold.

The anterior face of this hinged locket is ornamented with the 18ct yellow gold applied initials "CM".

The surrounding frame is embellished with a sharp chased decoration.

The hinged locket opens to reveal a push fit panel, in which a personal memento or photograph may be stored.

The antique (circa 1880) locket suspends from a later vintage (circa 1970) 21" 9ct yellow gold box style chain via an oval ring loop attachment to the upper border.

The chain is hallmarked to the clasp with the 9ct gold fineness marks (375 9K).

This bloodstone locket in gold is hallmarked to the ring loop attachment with the French import mark for 18ct gold (owl).
