The body of each egg cup is embellished with exceptional embossed scrolling leaf and floral decoration accented with a shaped leaf textured background.
The pedestal foot of each piece is embellished with further scrolling leaf designs, incorporating a matte background.
This antique Russian egg cups screw fit together to conjoin and form an ovoid shape.
One egg cup retains the original gilding to the interior underside of the pedestal foot.

Kokoshnik mark: C* (Aleksandr Nikolaievitch Snarsky)
Silver quality/purity mark: 900, 84 (84 zolotniks**)
* This variation of the Kokoshnik import mark was used from 1899-1908, determining the date of this piece as circa 1905.
** The country of origin hallmarked each piece with the standard mark 900 and once imported into Russia the silver purity was tested and hallmarks struck reaffirming the silver is a minimum of 84 zolotniki; this is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver.
