This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a waisted stem and circular spreading foot.
The body of this silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved coat of arms depicting a saltire, cantoned with two stars, in chief and base, and two stars addorsed in the flanks, all above the motto 'Sit vita nomini congrua' - May our life be like our name.
This coat of arms is surmounted with the crest depicting a cross calvary*.
The upper portion of the goblet is encompassed with a band of bright cut engraved chevron decoration.
The applied upper rim of the goblet and subtly stepped foot are encircled with bands of tooled decoration.
