This exceptional vintage 1940s sterling silver box has a plain rectangular form.

The surface of this vintage silver box is plain and unembellished.

This exceptional box is retains the original hallmarked ring loop handles, accented with cast and applied lion mask decorated sockets.

This example of vintage George VI silverware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged solid silver cover, incorporating a plain shaped thumbpiece to the anterior surface.

By virtue of its size this versatile box could be used for a multitude of functions.

This exceptional box was crafted by the renowned silversmiths Hukin & Heath Ltd.

Such solid silver boxes, in this exceptional quality, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver interior.

This vintage 1940s sterling silver box is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the cover and base are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
