Description

This exceptional, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 20ct yellow gold.

The brooch has a tiered elliptical form, ornamented with a black onyx panel set in relief to the centre.

The onyx panel is ornamented with a central eight-point star motif, embellished with fourteen impressive seed pearls.

The outer portion of the brooch is ornamented with impressive black enamel and bears elucidating wording 'In Memory Of'.

The elliptical enamel decoration is flanked with rope twist decorated borders.

The posterior of this exceptional Victorian brooch is ornamented with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Mother 21st Feby 1882' and 'Father 20th Jany 1874'"

The reverse of the brooch is inset with a push fit panel, which allows a personal memento or keepsake to be displayed; the original hair may easily be removed and replaced if desired.

The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp.

This onyx mourning brooch with pearls has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 20 carat gold; this indicates the high quality of the piece.

This impressive mourning brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
