This stunning antique Victorian brooch/ pendant has been crafted in 14ct yellow gold with silver settings.
The setting has been modelled in the form of a dragonfly.
The pierced decorated paired wings are embellished with fourteen pavé set Old European cut diamonds, of various sizes.
The thorax of the dragonfly is ornamented with an independently yellow gold collet set 0.45ct round faceted sapphire, the attached segmented abdomen is silver set with a further four graduated Dutch cut diamonds.
The dragonfly's legs and head are crafted in 14ct yellow gold, set with two collet set cabochon cut rubies to represent the eyes.
The pendant suspends from a contemporary 18 ct yellow gold 18" trace chain via the winged-insect's antennae.
This stunning antique pendant can also be worn as a brooch via a detachable screw fit, hinged pin and clasp fastening to the reverse of the setting; this removable fitment indicates the high quality of the piece.
