An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique early Victorian English sterling silver locking tea caddy; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver tea caddy has an octagonal panelled, baluster shaped form onto a spreading collet foot.

Each panel of this fine tea caddy is embellished with bright cut engraved angular interlacing ribbon designs, incorporating four vacant shaped cartouches.

The body of this early Victorian silver tea caddy is fitted with a lock ornamented with decorative flower head fitments.

This impressive caddy has a hallmarked domed panelled cushion style hinged cover embellished with further bright cut engraved interlacing designs accented with floral motifs.

The cover is surmounted by the original cushion shaped silver finial ornamented with scaled bright cut engraved decoration reflecting that of the cover.

This silver tea caddy is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddy and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
