A fine and impressive 2.31 carat garnet, 0.30 carat diamond, pearl, 0.04 carat ruby and 9 carat yellow gold, platinum set insect buttonhole brooch; part of our diverse antique jewellery collections

This fine and impressive antique gemstone buttonhole has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold with a platinum setting.

This antique brooch has been modelled in the form of a winged insect.

The abdomen of the insect is ornamented with an impressive collet set 2.31ct oval faceted cut garnet.

The pierced decorated wings are each embellished with nine platinum pavé set eight-cut diamonds, varying in size dependant on location.

The thorax of the winged insect is ornamented with an impressive cultured pearl.

The insect's legs and head are crafted in 9 ct yellow gold, set with two collet set round faceted cut rubies to represent the eyes.

The antique gemstone brooch secures to the reverse with a 9 ct yellow gold coiling button hold fastening.

This antique insect brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold and platinum.

The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
