Horace Woodward & Co (Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor)

AC Silver are pleased to offer a fine range of antique silver pieces by Horace Woodward & Co (Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor).

The company was established in Birmingham in the 1850s by George Cartwright and Joseph Hirons trading as Cartright & Hirons, however upon the partnership of Horace Woodward in 1853 the firm became known as Cartwright, Hirons & Woodward.

They gained fame through exhibitions in London, Paris and Melbourne and hallmarks can be found through the 19th and 20th centuries.

Due to their success this led to their acquisition in 1919, by Adie Brothers Ltd.
