Sterling Silver Bon Bon Basket - Antique George III (1786)

This exceptional and rare antique Georgian sterling silver basket has an oval shaped form onto a swept oval foot.

The body of the basket is embellished with exceptional scrolling pierced decoration, incorporating curvilinear foliate designs to the upper portion, all accented with engraved details.

The shaped rim of this 18th century basket is ornamented with a paralleling applied bead decorated border.

The well of this antique basket is plain and unembellished.

This fine example of Georgian silverware retains the original impressive swing handle, ornamented with further applied bead decoration.

The oval swept foot of this impressive bon bon basket is encompassed with a band of pierced decorated scrolling ornamentation, with an applied bead border to the rim.
