Description

This exceptional antique sterling silver trophy cup has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped circular spreading pedestal foot.

The upper portion of this Edwardian cup & cover is embellished with embossed and chased hibiscus floral and foliate designs accented with an incurved shaped border to the lower portion; this segment features a patterned matte background.

The decoration to the body incorporates two broad bordered circular vacant cartouches.

This impressive presentation cup retains the original hallmarked cover encircled with a simplified geometric style border, in addition to further embossed and chased leaf and hibiscus floral decoration, reflecting the designs to the body.

The cover is surmounted with the original and impressive hallmarked cast sterling silver finial realistically modelled in the form of a bull.

This antique cup and cover is fitted with two embossed reed decorated handles, each accented with an exceptional leaf decorated upper terminal and lower portion of the handpiece.

This fine example of antique silverware is fitted to the original circular painted wood plinth, encircled with a bespoke vacant silver inscription band; the band may be engraved with a personal inscription if so desired
