An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver and tortoiseshell boudoir clock; an addition to our silver timepiece collection

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver boudoir clock has a plain rectangular form.


The surface of this impressive antique boudoir clock is embellished with tortoiseshell panels, framed with plain broad sterling silver borders.


Either side of the case is ornamented with exceptional piqué work depicting a flower basket suspended from a ribbon bow design.


The upper portion of the tortoiseshell clock is fitted with a scrolling hinged carrying handle.


The white enamel dial of the clock is ornamented with Roman hour numerals, encircled with a plain chapter ring with minute markers and fitted with shaped blued steel hands.


The face of this timepiece is visible through a circular glass 'window' with a plain applied silver border.


The hallmarked hinged door is secured with a hallmarked hinged catch and opens to reveal the original eight-day movement.


The clock movement is fitted with an incorporated hinged winding key, featuring a shaped handle with a lobed fingerpiece.


Date: 1912

This antique tortoiseshell clock is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The enamel dial, glass panel and tortoiseshell segments are all in perfect condition

The movement has been professionally overhauled and is supplied with a twelve month guarantee.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the surface of the frame, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the door and the catch are all clear, in keeping with age and location.
