This exceptional and rare antique Victorian sterling silver gilt combination vinaigrette and scent bottle has a rounded oval-shaped form.
This exceptional bottle is comprised of a blown glass body fitted with a silver gilt mount to the upper and lower portions.
The piece retains the two original hinged covers to the antique scent bottles, allowing access to the two original glass stoppers.
The covers of the scents are embellished with the engraved initial 'IS', accented with a fleur-de-lis detail and a coronet; this design continues across the anterior surface of each cover.
The opposing end of the vessel is fitted with a plain hinged cover embellished with decoration reflecting that of the scent bottle cover and opens to reveal the original hinged grille and gilt interior.
The antique vinaigrette grille is ornamented with engraved and pierced decorated bordered scrolling leaf designs, accented with the maker/retailer's mark 'Mordan & Co, London' to the centre.
