Description

This exceptional antique George III sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded, compressed form.

The body of the teapot is embellished with impressive chased floral, shell and fruit decoration, incorporating scrolling designs to the upper portion in addition to a scroll bordered cartouche to either side.

One cartouche bears a contemporary engraved coat of arms, and the other features the bright cut engraved crest of a unicorn's head.

The upper rim of the teapot is encompassed with an applied scrolling leaf decorated border.

This exceptional Georgian teapot is fitted with a plain domed hinged hallmarked cover reflecting the chased decoration to the body.

The impressive cover is surmounted with the original cast sterling silver floral and foliate finial.

This Georgian silver teapot is fitted with a sterling silver C shaped handle, ornamented with further floral and foliate decoration to both the handpiece and the scrolling thumbpiece, all on a matte background.

The exceptional cast upper socket has been realistically modelled in the form of a boar's head, featuring details replicating the anatomical features, tusks and coat.

This exceptional example of antique teaware has an impressive cast sterling silver swan necked spout, enveloped with scrolling leaf designs emanating from the underside, in addition to leaf textures encompassing the socket.

This teapot is supported by a circular foot, encompassed with chased undulating floral ornamentation, to a plain collet rim.
