SKU C4246

This exceptional George V sterling and Royal Doulton antique match striker has a globular form.

The surface of the ceramic body has a textured finish reflecting the iconic style of Royal Doulton.

The upper portion of this antique match striker retains the original, detachable plain hallmarked sterling silver mount.

The underside the body bears the Royal Doulton backstamp*, in addition to the registration number '5435'.

Such large examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

* This mark was used to celebrate the grant of the Royal Warrant to Doulton in 1901 by King Edward VII and incorporated the word 'England' until the 1920s.
