Description


This exceptional antique George V sterling silver gallery tray has a plain oval form.


The surface of this antique tray is plain and unembellished.


The shaped, incurved galleried border of this silver tray is embellished with pierced scrolling leaf decoration incorporating two shaped oval inset handles.


The underside of the tray bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb Ltd, Sheffield & London'.

Condition


This antique sterling silver gallery tray is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The tray has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

There are some surface blemishes in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the tray are very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
